Overall great place for senior care
reviewed on: 11/18/2020 by AnonymousMy scores are based on prior to the new management. We chose Lexington place because of what you got for the value, we felt like it was a nice facility with good programs compared to some others we looked into. The rooms are all studio apartments, but they have different sizes so you can choose what better fits your needs. About 2 months ago, they got a new director and some of the things that she has put into place are not good right now and she is not good with communication. We have had to go above her in order to get answers on things and issues that we are having. I do believe the person we have been speaking to is trying to help and solve some of these issues. But overall my mom is very happy here and well taken care of. Even with the issues we are having, we are still happy with our choice of Lexington place in general.
Mixed Experience
reviewed on: 11/14/2013 by SonMy mom was there only a total of eight days. She finally had to leave because she fell trying to get up and go to the bathroom and broke her neck. I don't think it was negligence from the staff; she had a pendant around her neck and couldn't remember to tell them when she had to get up. After that, they wouldn't take her back because they said that she needed more care than they could handle. Before we left though, there was a whole bunch of changes. A lot of people left and the director went out on a leave of absence. My mom's roommate was a level 5, which is the highest level of care, and all of the sudden she was gone. I don't know what the changes were, but people just seemed to leave.
Brookdale Review
reviewed on: 06/15/2016 by LOUISE CRIMI was very impressed with this place. It had things that were very surprising to me, such as the way it was run. IT did not have the smell that most homes have. It was very clean and the way the hired help was always busy cleaning or doing things for the people that live there. The rooms were a good size for a person to live in. They have activities for the residence to join in. The cost was very reasonable.
Great Facility and Staff
reviewed on: 10/17/2016 by Vic HGreat facility & excellent staff. They go beyond what is expected to make my mother feel welcome and like she is at home. When the time came that Mom was unable to continue living independently, she told us that she had heard good things about Brookdale- Lexington/West Columbia & had a friend who is currently living there & was very happy. Mom has been at Brookdale-Lexington/West Columbia for 3 weeks now and we are not disappointed- she seems to be making the transition about as well as can be expected.
