Community Reviews
Care not adequate due to living conditions
reviewed on: 07/01/2018 by AnonymousUpon visiting one of the homes @ this location, I was not impressed. Lack of air conditioning which has not been adequately repaired in a month's time and problem with floor. Clients have been moved to other houses and cereal with spoiled milk was served for breakfast one morning that I am aware of. This is not @ all a family atmosphere where the clients living needs are being met.
Do NOT put your loved one in Gregory's Community Care!!!
reviewed on: 11/15/2017 by Bonita LovePlease DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER IN Gregory's Community Care!!!! My Mother was sent there by the hospital, and it is a horribly abusive place!!! I saw it first hand. I actually had to "kidnap" my mom to get her out of there. When the other residents realized that my friend and I were quickly packing my mom's things, they begged me to take them as well...BEGGED ME! When I had to tell them that I could only take my mom, they were in tears and said, " Please, don't forget about us! Can you please tell someone on the "outside" about us and the horrible things that go on here?!" They actually said "someone on the outside"! It broke my heart to have to leave them, so I'm telling anyone who reads this about these lovely, but abused and forgotten people. I confronted the owner and she literally ran away from me to her on-sight home and locked the door! There was only one nurse there, during my mother's stay. They don't allow anyone to call their doctor until AFTER 6:00, when all offices are closed, and they are forced, and I do mean FORCED" to only see this 1 doctor that Gregory is in cahoots with... meaning that the doctor gives each resident a false diagnoses and claims that they need to be on these expensive medications, then Gregory orders them from a pharmacy in Columbia, and pays a fraction of the cost, then charges the residents about 3 times as much! Then she and the doctor pocket the extra money. If no-one in the family can come up with the money, she then tells the family members (of the resident) that they cannot see their loved one, NOR take them out to visit with them UNTIL THIS BILL IS PAID! There is only one phone that the residents can call their family on, and it's behind a locked door that the nurse has to open, then she stands right there as the resident tries to talk to their family (or whomever)! My mom called me a couple of times while there, and as she started to tell me all the horrendous things that were going on, she was abruptly interrupted by the nurse and was told that the conversation "was over!". They are only allowed 10 minutes on the phone, or less, if the nurse doesn't like what they are talking about. I have barely scratched the surface, but I am literally getting sick in the midst of writing all of this. So PLEASE, don't put a loved one here, and also, if you know of someone that can help, please tell them about what you have today. You can't just take the word of GPS or the Ombudsman office, because I reported this to them and all they say that they questioned Mrs. Gregory about these claims and SHE SAID that nothing of the sort was true...so they sent me a letter telling me that they were closing the case because, when they questioned Mrs. Gregory, "she said that she didn't do these things". (Oh my gosh, were they serious? Yes they were!) Unbelievable!!! If you want to ask me anything about my review, please text me at 864-558-5999.
No Way!
reviewed on: 10/11/2019 by AnonymousWe called this place several times when we were searching for a place, the phone rang for a long time, left several messages which were never returned. One day the lady from SCDHHS called from our house, told them who she was and was left on hold forever! No one ever responded to any of our requests! Since this place is located fairly close to my house, I ride by there on a regular basis. Ofter there are people, don't remember seeing any females, just sitting on the porches. Never any activity outside on the grounds, etc. Sometimes I see a van but again just parked. Doesn't seem to be anything planned or happening for the residents. They look very bored and restless, just watching traffic! Never been inside of course, but doesn't look like a place anyone should have to endure!
