Moved Site Unseen- Very Happy!
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Marie HuntMy husband and I moved to Brightwater in 2013 site unseen. We had been living in Connecticut for many years and decided we would like a warmer climate and available medical options for my husband. Of great help to us, was Alice Yerkes. She helped us every step of the way and made our decision and move to such easier. Brightwater has numerous activities, the staff are great and always so very helpful. It is a wonderful community for retirement living "at its best". Since my husband passed away, I am so very happy that we made the decision to move to Brightwater and I have formed so many friendships.
Luxury Cruise Ship on Land
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Tim GertsmeyerMy wife and I moved to Brightwater October 1, 2014 and it is more than we had hoped it would be. There are many amenities, a very friendly and helpful staff and happy content residents. The Social Calendar and Wellness Center is full of activities everyday in which you can participate. I describe Brightwater as a “Luxury Cruise Ship on land.” We like to travel and not owning a home gives us the freedom that we need without the home owning responsibility. Our children live in NJ and Australia and they don’t have to worry about us and we won’t burden them with our care. Our lawyer daughter-in-law in AU thanked us for taking charge of our lives so they don’t have to worry about us. We love the lifestyle that Brightwater affords us to have! Their slogan says it all - Live Long - Live Well - Live!
Brightwater is a Top Notch Senior Living Environment!
reviewed on: 03/13/2021 by Susan BNana transferred from the hospital to Rehab into assisted living just as COVID-19 closed everything down. It is so helpful getting calls from her caregivers keeping us posted on how she is doing and sharing what personal items she needs. Nana says the food is delicious and enjoys interacting with all her caregivers and therapists. Now that the weather is warming up she enjoys sitting in the beautiful screened in porch and taking walks throughout the property with the help of caregivers. Nana is sleeping better, eating healthier and taking her medications as prescribed. She has her hair “done” weekly now that the salon has reopened. The staff has worked tirelessly setting up window and video visits. They decorated the outside of her window, and brought the cake we delivered to her room as we celebrated her 91st birthday through the window! As hurricane season nears, we are happy to know Nana has the choice to stay at Brightwater during category 1, 2,3 and 4 hurricanes.
Right Place for Us!
reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Al GuyetMy wife and I moved into Brightwater in July 2014. In our search for a Continuing Care Retirement Community, we visited three communities and saw many more on the internet. We both agreed that Brightwater was the right place for us. The staff here is very accommodating and the Dining Service is excellent. We were also very pleased to find that our apartment had its own washer and dryer. Some facilities we visited had only community laundry. We would certainly recommend Brightwater.
Brightwater Expereince
reviewed on: 03/31/2020 by Mamasha5 years ago when I was 70 yrs old, I was only concerned about financial planning for the future not where I wanted to live. I knew I didn’t want to go to a nursing home. I lived in a single family house in a retirement community and because of health issues, my family suggested Brightwater a continuum care community and I would be able to live independently. I was very surprised to find resort style life, I don’t have to cook or plan activities or run out to the gym, transportation is available, maintenance is taken care of and all of these are included. The day I came to tour with my daughter, everyone was smiling and welcoming and asking are you going to move here? I felt so warm & welcomed that I didn’t have to think about this. I feel healthier today than the day I moved in because I am able to keep my mind & body busy. I feel every effort is made to secure my safety. I have always enjoyed crafts and now I have classes to encourage me to try new medias. The dining experience feels like I am at the resort, specials every day or a full menu to select from. The presentation is beautiful and a smiling staff to serve us. We have the 101 club to enjoy a cocktail & snacks before dinner with my friends. We are all part of the Brightwater family.
