Above and Beyond
reviewed on: 09/05/2020 by Three DaughtersWe want everyone who reads this review to know about one of the people who works as part of the West Shore marketing team. In the difficult process of moving our parents from their home of almost 60 years into Country Meadows of West Shore, she was a TRUE BLESSING!! When our Dad went into the hospital, it was always the plan for him to return home. From the hospital, he went into Encompass for rehab as he was unable to walk and could no longer get up and down. It was clear that Dad was going to need additional rehab and was going to be unable to return home for some time. We started looking into facilities with rehabilitation programs and one that would take him with all the COVID-19 restrictions. Country Meadows of West Shore turned out to be one of those facilities. That alone was a blessing! Dad had to spend 14 days in quarantine. Country Meadows let my Dad use one of their TV’s to help pass the time. During this time, our family was very concerned about our Mom. At first, Mom tried to make it work for her to stay at home. But it was just too difficult with her eyesight and hearing loss. However, the marketing team person we were working with for Dad came up with a GREAT idea - they could put our parents in two adjoining room and connect them by putting a door between the rooms. For us, it was an answer to prayer!!! It was the perfect idea - that way our Mom wouldn’t have to be alone. Our marketing team person, (sorry, the guidelines don’t allow me to give her name) spent HOURS on the phone with us, answering all of our questions and concerns. And there were a LOT of questions and one answer would trigger more questions. Our young lady answered every question and always had an upbeat, positive attitude. She made us feel like we could come to her with anything and she would find a way to work things out. She was such a GREAT help!!! Additionally, once both of our parents were in their respective apartments, she continued to work with us and our parents to get all the kinks worked out - Dad needing a higher bed, Dad needing a TV that got the History channel, safeguarding our Mom’s new TV, getting their phone worked out, getting tables for our parents to use for eating their meals (due to COVID-19), getting an extra blanket/pad to keep Mom warm at night and even getting her some pickles. She even took a really cute picture of our parents and sent it to us. We liked it so much that we used it to make address change cards. Our marketing team member went ABOVE AND BEYOND for our family. This review is our way to express our sincere gratitude for the young lady. Note: Sorry for the one star for Activies. Couldn’t put N/A for Activities which is what it should be because there weren’t any normal activities due to COVID-19.
Looked great during our tour
reviewed on: 01/06/2014 by Loved oneThis was one of the locations we looked at when looking for our loved one. I had actually had some experience with community when I was much younger, one of my relatives had been here. From what I could see it looks like they've really improved a great deal, the facility looked great. The rooms were beautiful, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. This was one of our top choices.
Compassionate and professional
reviewed on: 03/13/2020 by AnonymousThe past 60 days has been an overwhelming journey for our family as we navigated our parents hospitalizations, rehabilitations, moves from an independent living facility to assisted living at Country Meadows, and the eventual death of our father. It’s not an understatement to say that the staff at Country Meadows was outstanding every step of the way. The marketing team, the transportation drivers, the nursing staff, the kitchen personnel and maintenance staff are professional and kind in the way they interact with both residents and family. When it became clear that our father’s care needs were more at the level of a skilled nursing facility, Allie and Danielle worked with us to come up with a plan combining private duty and hospice care to allow him to return to Country Meadows from the rehab facility. His last week of life was spent with his wife rather than alone in another new facility. Just a week later, our mother was ready to move to a single room, and once again, the staff were on hand to arrange everything. We are thankful to everyone who is a part of the team.
It's nice and it's big.
reviewed on: 04/16/2015 by AnonymousIt's nice and it's big. But when I call I get an answering machine, and they just never get back to me. The communication is tough. The greatest thing was when he got there he had a friend right off the bat, almost like they had set it up for him.
