Community Reviews
Respectful, caring, well run, dignified atmosphere
reviewed on: 04/09/2018 by Michael G.Well run and caring. Thank you to the the fine staff at Silvia and John's Residential Care! You made a difficult time enjoyable for my family. Both my parents were residents at Silvia and John's for 3 years, and in that time they were loved, respected and cared for in a most professional and dignified manner. Sylvia, her family and staff were always available to answer questions and kept me informed as needed. The facility is clean, well staffed and peaceful. The food is delicious and nutritious- the offer to sit and enjoy a meal in the dining room with family is a tradition- a welcome one at that! Sylvia and John's always felt like home to me.
great facility
reviewed on: 01/02/2016 by DiannaI loved that it was a family run business. Everyone had their own specialty. And very kind too all of our family . My brother in law was in good hands. When's it's time I would want to be taken care of there
Great care
reviewed on: 06/18/2015 by RickWe have had three of our parents in care of Silvia. We could not be more happy. The price is reasonable, between $1500 and $2500 per month less than other facilities we have used. Presently my mother is in their care. She has been there 4 1/2 years on Hospice the entire time. She has wonderful care. Been in bed over 2 years, and no skin issues! I think that must be a record. Her needs are met and her care exceeds our expectations.
Expensive
reviewed on: 07/26/2013 by FranIt's quite expensive. I pay almost $6000 a month for my husband to live there. They have a base price and then other fees for care. There is another fee for tube feeding which he has to have and $500 a month becuase he needs 2 people to transfer him. The hospice prescribed something and Sylvia and Johns is giving it to him all the time instead of just in emergencies. They have him so drugged all the time that he can't wake up. My husband doesn't speak to it makes it difficult to know when he's in pain and Silvia just assumes that he's in pain all the time and gives him the medicine. It could be more to do with hospice that Silvia and John's but I just don't know. It's a very nice facility and everyone has their own private room and bath which is nice. The people mostly stay in their rooms all day but they make them come out for meal times. They don't have any group activities or anything like that.
I can't speak more highly of them, I have been very very pleased.
reviewed on: 02/24/2014 by StephanieI can't speak more highly of them, I have been very very pleased. They are very understanding and they definitely know what they are doing. I don't know what I'd do without them. They never act like anything is a problem, it is well organized and each person is well cared for. It's a homey atmosphere. It's always very clean. I like their caring attitude, they definitely know what they are doing medically as well. Everything was written out in the contract, so I knew exactly what was going to happen if there were extra needs. They gave her time to adjust before deciding what kind of care she needed. There are occaisonal activities, not daily. The food always smells really good, and they seem to love it. This has been perfect for our family and situation, it might not be for everyone, but we love it.
