Good,friendly, and helpful senior care
reviewed on: 12/19/2016 by millarFacilities including rooms and amenities were more than adequate with good supervision and helpful attention. Staff was friendly and responsive and meals were great. My experience with my father at QG was only for a couple of months at end of life. The level of care required at this time may have been a challenge for staffing, especially under the circumstances of physical and vision impairment. Perhaps a nursing home would be better at that time. Individually staff performed professionally and efficiently, however the coordination of personal information and services between shifts was sometimes erratic. I believe father would have enjoyed living at QG had he moved there a year earlier. Overall I would recommend QG, maybe i will move there in another 30 years or so. My thanks to staff who went above and beyond in care and respect for my father.
Wonderful retirement
reviewed on: 06/27/2016 by DaleMy Mom is almost 102 with dementia and recovering from a broken hip. We were lost as to where to place her. Quinte Gardens was recommended by A Place For Mom, and it has been wonderful. She is on a floor that provides extra services for someone like her with PSW's there all the time to take care of her personal needs. They dress and wash her in the morning and get her ready for bed at night. They take her to a beautiful dining hall for three meals with white linen tablecloths and waitresses to serve from the menu. There is a Bistro lounge with TV, tea and coffee and cookies all day where she can meet a friend and entertain. Her room is cleaned daily and her laundry done. She seems to have settled in and seems happy. We should all be so lucky to have such a happy ending!
Assisted Living Not - need more staff!
reviewed on: 02/21/2019 by Unhappy familyWe moved our mother into Quinte Gardens Retirement Home after we felt her dementia had declined to the point she needed more care than she was able to receive at her previous retirement home. We went for a visit and it was decided that she would be a good candidate for the assisted living floor as they had a elevator that would make it difficult for her to leave the building, her medication would be given to her and there was 24 hr. nursing care. Our mother was able to leave her floor and leave the building within a month of living at the home. The police brought her back without the homes knowledge that she had even left. We were only notified because the police notified our family asking if we knew her. Our mother fell last fall and was taken to the hospital, she had injured her back. She remained in bed and my sister and I had to take care of her and bring in staff from an outside agency to care for her. The retirement home did not have enough staff to care for her. My sister and I took turns taking days off work. We had to search for staff and meals for her. We immediately started searching for a nursing home as our mother was being neglected on a daily basis. We were able to get her in a nursing home within a few weeks. They had her up and going within a week and her care has been exceptional at the Belmont.
