Community Reviews
My parents loved it there!
reviewed on: 10/20/2017 by vszmikMy parents were the first tenants in there when it opened. They lived there for almost 10 years and they loved it!. It's not that big, so it has more of a close knit family environment. The staff was very good to my parents, and it is all on one level. It's not the "Taj Mihal", like some are, but it was very down to earth and homey, as were my parents. She liked it because it wasn't so fancy! Haha. They used to have family night: Dinner for the families and live entertainment, etc. We had many good times there. Miss you mom and dad!
Lots to Do!
reviewed on: 09/27/2016 by AnonymousThe community is really great. I was worried that my loved ones would not adapt to the community. Now they are really getting to know the community and adjusting. The community has good programs and activities that my loved ones can do. The lunch menu has a good variety for them to choose from.
Very good experience!
reviewed on: 11/20/2015 by AnonymousOur experience with Portland Place has been a very good one! We were in a really tight spot and the staff here was incredibly helpful and accommodating in making sure that my loved one got the help we needed! I also really appreciate how communicative they've been since we moved my loved one in. I'd give them high marks across the board!
Going the extra mile!
reviewed on: 10/03/2016 by Anonymousthe staff and the community were wonderful. They are very good about keeping me informed about my loved one. The staff really does go above and beyond for my loved one. The community does offer activities, but my loved one just has not started to participate.
So lucky to have found Portland Place!
reviewed on: 10/21/2021 by Sandi MMy 90+ year old parent's moved in in April and immediately felt comfortable and at home. They loved their apartment, the food, and especially the staff. Dad's health issues got the best of him and he passed in Aug., receiving wonderful care by both the staff and hospice. Soon after we moved mom into a studio apartment where she is happily residing, in spite of the fact she misses my dad terribly. The staff has been helping mom through this terrible time as much as my husband and I- they are so supportive, caring, understanding and loving with her it brings tears to my eyes. Mom loves the activities available, especially bingo, and is thrilled when Henry, the house cat, visits. Today they are going on a "field trip" to get ice cream. The facility is small, so mom does not get lost in the crowd. All the staff is wonderful, including the support people, and everyone pitches in when needed and necessary. They are all like family and treat the residents like family. Mom is happy!
