Community Reviews
Home Away From home-Assisted Living
reviewed on: 10/19/2020 by Kristy RynkIt was a homey feeling. The community didn't feel like an intialuzied. My loved one loved it here. My loved one was in respite care, and they went out and bought a bedspread, trash cans and other items to make it feel like home. They allowed us to purchase the refrigerator, and even hung the pictures we brought up to him. They put all his clothes away for him, and didn't make him do it. They were able to get him settled in. The community allowed us to come visit with my dad outside as long as we stayed 6 feet apart. The community did a bar-b-que and brought the food up to the residents to still participate in an activity. My loved one was only at this community for 4 days. The community ended up refunding us the entire amount. The community was able to give us a phone number for doctors that make house calls to assist my loved one further. When we were looking for a more of a high care community, we used this community as a measuring gage.
We were very, very happy with Elmcroft.
reviewed on: 10/27/2015 by AnonymousWe were very, very happy with Elmcroft. We are very happy with the place, and the nursing service takes very good care of him. We are comfortable with him being there and they keep an eye on him, so we know he is safe. I think they deserve a five.
Nice place, overall
reviewed on: 07/22/2015 by AnonymousI think they do a good job at Elmcroft of Little Avenue, for the most part. The staff here are friendly and professional, and they do a good job looking out for the residents. However, I would feel much more at ease if they had a nurse or some sort of medical staff on site 24/7. Currently they have no on-site medical personnel available after 5pm or on weekends.
Great place for Dad
reviewed on: 11/12/2018 by The WoltersThe time came where our dad needed more care than we could provide. We toured many places...some very, very nice, and some not so. When we got to Elmcroft we felt it provided more of a "home" atmosphere for him. It is a little smaller than most assisted living homes that we toured, the staff is friendly and helpful and they KNOW each person there. Dad quickly found the "lay of the land" so he could move around and get to places he wanted to be. There are outings and games, church services and exercise classes, family dinners and special programs...a bunch to do - but mainly it is "home" to him now. Family is ALWAYS welcome to visit or come for lunch or dinner. Every question is answered and every person cared for. We are very happy with Elmcroft and the best part is that Dad is happy there too.
Nice looking community, high on my list
reviewed on: 03/03/2014 by Loved oneI toured this community while I was looking into care options for my loved one. Although this place didn't quite make our top 3, it was still high on the list out of all of the many communities that we toured. It was a very nice looking place, and everyone here seemed very friendly. I wasn't impressed by the activities and programs that would have been available for a less ablebodied person, but otherwise everything looked top notch.
