Just Keeps Getting Better...
reviewed on: 11/29/2015 by CMAt first, Mom was a little reluctant making the move from her own home to the Bristal in East Northport, but within a few months she was "right at home". She has many friends to talk to, and she loves her apartment. She always tells me the staff couldn't be more helpful, and that they make sure there's always something to do, and the food is delicious! She's never in her room anymore...always "out" and about. I Highly recommend The Bristal, as I'm sure Mom would.
Smiles
reviewed on: 12/20/2015 by Dave WhelehanMy wife (70) has advanced early onset Alzheimer's, but her spirits are generally good. She likes to walk and does not like to sit for long. Day Care in town was becoming difficult for the staff in a small one room facility. I found The Bristal and knew right away that this was the place for her. The Reflections (dementia) wing is a circular residential area and my wife could walk as much as she wants. She now goes to Day Care there five days a week and is always smiles on her way there and when I pick her up. It offers great flexibility on time and services. The staff at The Bristal could not be better. They all are cheerful and very, very caring. They become an extended family. They supervise many activities, so attendees never get bored. We were so pleased with the Bristal that we recommended it to my son's mother-in-law, who has Parkinson's . She lived by herself in NYC and liked the action of the City and was reluctant to make any move, but she now loves it.
A new home!

Difficult But Right Decision
reviewed on: 02/14/2019 by Janet MatuliaOur dad joined the Reflections group at The Bristal of East Northport two months ago and, to-date, we are very satisfied with this difficult decision. During our initial research effort, we felt that the staff we met with were genuine, honest, and extremely helpful in answering our questions. During the move-in process, all involved staff members were, again, helpful, patient, and supportive of this difficult task both on the family and the new resident. Since then, we have been happy with the number and type of activities offered to the residents on a daily basis. The aides are all pleasant, helpful, and concerned about our dad's well-being .... our visits are all unannounced. After two months our dad considers The Bristal his home.
Rapid response to a fall.
reviewed on: 08/13/2015 by MerleMy mother has been at the Bristal since April 2013, and has been enjoying having people to eat with, socialize, and controlling her own thermostat. This week, she fell in her apartment, and for the first time she pressed her emergency pendant. I was outside waiting for her to take her to an appointment. I realized something was wrong when she didn't answer her phone or come down. I went upstairs and there were two aides with her and the ambulance had been called. The quick response and knowing she is watched gives me a sense of relief. When we returned from the ER, she was given TLC all night and the next day. We both felt so comfortable. Can't praise the staff enough. Merle
