I would not recommend this facility.
reviewed on: 01/22/2019 by Karen ClementsMy father was a resident for 6 weeks in September, 2018. His meals arrived cold and the food was overcooked and hard. His dinner meal was left at the bedside knowing he was not able to feed himself. If he missed dinner, because he was given pain medication, there was nothing availabe later in the evening. There were many times that his blood sugar was checked after he had eaten his dinner meal which is not the correct procedure for diabetics. The lobby and hallways of the facility had a smell of urine and were the original carpet. There was a bad smell under the fall mats at his bedside so our family requested that the carpet in the room be cleaned. One day of his stay, there was no running water in his room. The evening that the electricity went out, no one came into the room to reassure the patient or family when the power would be restored. The staff had name badges that were difficult to read. The first name was displayed, but one could not make out the last name or title. One did not know if you were speaking to a nurse, med tech or patient care technician. There were many evenings after 7:00 p.m. where I could not find any staff in the hallway or nurses station to ask for help after no one responded to the call light. One of the patient care technicians commented to me on more than one occasion that they were short staffed. The nursing staff did not take care when turning or repositioning my father concerning his broken ankle. The staff continued to do this so I put a sign stating broken right ankle on the wall. The following day, the sign had been removed. I would not recommend anyone to send their family here.
Look Past the Surface of this Facility
reviewed on: 09/10/2018 by freebird50The reviews posted from 2012 do not reflect the current state of this facility. On the surface, this facility appears clean and above average. However, the change in management of this facility from private ownership to corporate for-profit owned has resulted in a steady decline in cleanliness and service. I will not post details of the issues I have endured with this facility. However, I will recommend that anyone considering this facility to be aware that measures are taken to make the facility appear better than they are including increasing staffing when annual state inspection surveys are conducted by the State of Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services...something I witnessed first hand on numerous occasions. It is not that this facility cannot provide above average care for its residents. It is simply a matter of poor leadership, disrespect for employees and cost cutting measures that put residents at risk for injury and poor care. Do your own research. Talk to random residents and their family members. Do not talk to the residents recommended by the facility as I have been told that management "coaches" these residents on what to say to potential clients and investigators. It is not the worst facility in St. Charles County, but its service quality has most definitely declined and continues to decline due to poor leadership. If you do chose this facility for the care of your loved one. Be prepared to be their advocate and fight for the services for which you are paying.
A family members nightmare!!
reviewed on: 08/11/2019 by TashPlease do not send your love ones to this facility. If you love them and want them treated properly this is not the place to send them. Staff are very unprofessional and careless. They avoid patients requests and needs. They bicker amongst themselves about patients blatantly in the hallways. Being intentionally spiteful. Moving objects out of patients reach. My heart goes out to those that have to permanently reside at this facility.
