Came away very impressed--for 3 reasons
reviewed on: 09/04/2019 by KJTrail Creek Place was one of several assisted living facilities in LaPorte County that I visited a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed with this particular place and here's why: During the tour that I was given, I saw a lot of interaction between residents. Instead of everyone being isolated in their rooms in the middle of the afternoon, I saw quite a few people sitting in a common area in the front of the building. There were people at tables--playing games, talking, laughing with each other. There were a variety of activities mentioned that are available to Trail Creek Place residents. Not just the usual bingo and so on. There's even an opportunity for residents to help raise money for different charities such as Salvation Army--which I thought was very cool. Secondly, the spacious courtyard seems like an unusually pleasant place to enjoy some outdoor time--like when a family is visiting, for example. The exterior looks well kept and the neighborhood is nice. (The facility is near Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Franciscan Medical Center.) I was most impressed by the sincere nature of the person who gave me the tour--Tricia. Her presentation was relaxed and down-to-earth instead of hard-sell, and I was able to learn a lot during the tour and during our discussion without feeling pressured to move forward in the least. Perhaps that may say something about how this facility does business.

I can tell that from the start when we moved my mother-in -law out of the first location to Trail Creek place. I would check in with her 3-4-5 times a week to see how she was doing. I found that she would tell me that the people would spend time talking to talk to her and other people. As time passed the needs of my mother changed. I went to Trail Creek Place for I knew that would be the correct place for my mother. I know that day my mother moved in was a very hard day for her and me. Roy Cohen

reviewed on: 09/28/2016 by AnonymousI really enjoyed my tour of this facility the staff was friendly, especially our tour guide Nicole. They offered great amenities and the community was kept clean. They also have a great memory loss program that they offer to residents.

I was quite impressed with Trail Creek Place Memory Care Unit. The facility is quite “ home like” and cozy,and the rooms are generous in space. The staff is friendly and attentive and residents seemed well cared for and engaged in activities. I have looked at several facilities in the area and place this one near the “top of my list” of choice. I have not read the recent state survey which I always do to assess quality of nursing care which will also be a determining factor for me. This facility is not like many others..and definitely has its own unique character..which is hard to find!

We had visited other facilities in the area, but immediately felt that "Trail Creek" was home. The quaint, cozy, home like atmosphere was very helpful with the transition. The staff from the start have been helpful and interested in the affairs of our mother. The high standards and professional staffing brings comfort to our family. We are happy to lend our mother to this community of new friends as we together face this next season. We found a new HOME.
